Why is KttiPay closing?
KttiPay began with a simple idea: paying together should be easier, less awkward and fairer for everyone. We are proud of what we built and genuinely grateful to everyone who chose to use KttiPay. What we learned from KttiPay is now shaping Maytes, the next chapter in making group payments easier. This includes Split with Maytes at participating merchants’ checkouts and the new Maytes app we are building. We are winding down KttiPay so we can put our full focus into building Maytes well. We had hoped the Maytes app would be ready before KttiPay closed, but it is taking longer than planned.
When is KttiPay closing?
There are two important dates:
Monday 24 August 2026: This is the final day to use KttiPay before it becomes withdrawal-only.
Monday 31 August 2026: KttiPay closes. After that, your account and the app will no longer be accessible.
From Tuesday 25 August until KttiPay closes on 31 August, you will still be able to access your account and transfer any remaining money out.

Why are there two different dates?
The first date gives you a clear deadline for finishing payments and resolving open items. From Tuesday 25 August, KttiPay becomes withdrawal-only. This means you can still access your account and transfer money out, but you can no longer use your KttiPay Visa Debit Card, make Direct Debit payments, create PayLinks or start new kttis. You then have until KttiPay closes on 31 August to transfer any remaining money out.
Can I continue using KttiPay until 24 August?
Yes. You can continue using KttiPay until Monday 24 August.
From Tuesday 25 August, you will no longer be able to:
- use your KttiPay Visa Debit Card
- make Direct Debit payments from your KttiPay account
- pay funds into a ktti
- create PayLinks
- start new kttis
- use any other payment functionality, except transferring money out.
You will still be able to access your account and transfer money out until KttiPay closes on 31 August.

What do I need to do?
Before KttiPay becomes withdrawal-only from Tuesday 25 August, please:
- settle or close any open kttis, PayLinks and payment requests
- move any subscriptions or recurring Card payments to another payment method

What is Maytes?
Maytes is what we are building next, shaped by what we learned from KttiPay. Split with Maytes is a group payment option that will be available at participating merchants’ checkouts. It allows people in a group to pay their individual shares as part of the booking process. We are also building a new Maytes app. The app is not ready yet, and we will let you know when it becomes available. Maytes is separate from KttiPay, and your KttiPay account and balance will not move into it.
Can I use Maytes now?
Split with Maytes will begin appearing at participating merchants’ checkouts as it becomes available. The new Maytes app is still being developed and is not available yet.
Will I hear from you when Maytes launches?
We may keep you updated as Maytes becomes available, including when Split with Maytes launches at participating merchants and when the new Maytes app is ready. You will not receive these updates if you have previously told us that you do not want marketing communications.
How do I know a closure message is really from KttiPay?
KttiPay will never ask you for:
- your password
- your PIN or verification code
- your full card number or
- a transfer to a “safe account.”
Messages about transferring money will tell you to open the KttiPay app directly.
Official KttiPay communications will come from: verified email address, push notifications from the KttiPay app and in-app messages.
If you are unsure whether a message is genuine, do not act on it. Contact us directly at [email protected]. The original FAQ correctly identifies that closure messages involving money transfers can resemble common scam patterns, so verified channels and direct-app instructions should remain prominent.
